hat happened to spark all of the speculation about Who Killed King Tut? The subject of Tutankhamun has fascinated people ever since his fabulous tomb and breathtaking treasures were discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. Was there a curse? Why did so many people die who were apparently involved in the opening of the tomb? The subject of Death automatically seems to follow the Pharaoh Tutankhamun. But back to the speculation.

Who Killed King Tut? Examinations of the Mummy of Tutankhamun
In 1968 x-ray examinations of the mummy of Tutankhamun by a group from the University of Liverpool revealed that the mummy of King Tut had dense spot on the lower back of the skull. Another investigation in 1978 followed lead by a group from the University of Michigan also found the same. These findings lead to significant questions and speculation that the young King Tut had been killed, or murdered, by a blow on his head. In 2005 a further examination by a team of Egyptian scientists led by Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities used a CT scan on the mummy revealing that the skull injury was likely to have been caused during the embalming process. They also found damage to the left thighbone suggesting that Tutankhamun had badly broken his leg before he died which could have possibly become infected. The problem is that no one knows for sure exactly what happened! This section covers the possible suspects and evidence to the question "Who Killed King Tut"?
